Refunds and Returns Policy

Effective date: September 2026

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. Under the Australian Consumer Law, books sold in Australia must be of acceptable quality, match their description, and be fit for their purpose (ACCC consumer guarantees).

Major problem — for example, the book is unreadable, badly misbound, or is not the book described — you may choose a replacement or a full refund.

Minor problem — for example, light cover scuffing or a small printing flaw — we will repair the issue where possible, or provide a replacement or refund.

Where you are entitled to a refund, it will be made in the original payment method for the full amount paid, including any delivery cost included in the price you paid. We will also cover the cost of returning a faulty book to us. We will not offer a credit note or exchange in place of a refund where the law entitles you to a refund, and we will not refuse or reduce a refund because the book is no longer in its original packaging (ACCC consumer guarantees guide).

Faulty, damaged or incorrect books

Please email contact@kimeanderson.com within 5 days of delivery, so we can deal with it while the evidence is fresh and any transit claim with Australia Post is still open. Include:

  • your order number

  • a description of the problem

  • a photograph of the book and, if relevant, the packaging

We will respond within 2 business days and arrange a replacement, a refund, or a reply-paid return label. Please do not send anything back before contacting us.

The 5-day period is a request, not a deadline. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not limited by it, and if you discover a fault later — a binding that fails after a first reading, for instance — please contact us and we will honour those rights.

Change of mind

We are not required by law to give a refund if you simply change your mind, ordered the wrong item, or found the book cheaper elsewhere.

We do not accept returns for change of mind. Please read the product description, including our note on the condition of our copies, carefully before ordering. This does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which continue to apply if the book is faulty, damaged or not as described.

Lost in transit

If tracking shows your parcel has not been delivered within 10 business days of dispatch, contact us and we will lodge an enquiry with Australia Post and send a replacement or refund you.

Refund timing

Approved refunds are processed within 5 business days of us receiving the returned book or agreeing to the refund. Your bank or card provider may take a further 3–5 business days to show the funds.

Cancelling an order

You can cancel your order free of charge before dispatch — email contact@kimeanderson.com as soon as possible and we will refund you in full.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with our response, contact contact@kimeanderson.com. You can also seek assistance from NSW Fair Trading or the ACCC.
